With eating disorders and bullying frequently being a hot topic in the media landscape, I’m reaching out to suggest a segment offering an unlikely source who can speak candidly about his first-hand account with both from the incredibly rare male perspective – Brian Cuban, lawyer, activist, talk show host and the younger brother of Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban.
For 30-plus years, Cuban struggled with body dysmorphia disorder (BDD) - a disease in which the sufferer is preoccupied with a distorted sense of self-image and is often afflicted with eating disorders, depression, and addiction.
Today, Cuban is healthy, having taken a series of steps to crawl out of the abyss of BDD through acceptance and repetition of positive behaviors.
